Your room is like a total mess? Huh, sound familliar?!?!

2 Jun

Your room is like a total mess, your friends and family nag you about what to do with that shack of a house you call “home”. As messy as it is, you have lived quite comfortably for the past few years. Though suddenly you see how lovely your friend’s room is. Simple, clutterless, stylish, pretty, comfortable, home. No worries, its really simple to go from what I would call, a extremely personalized room to a simply personalized hotel room!

RULE Number One: Never keep a ginormous collectionf of trinkets and souvenirs you can get from around the world!

a) It’s useless

b) People come in the room and would see a really tacky souvenir and think, WTF? (Unless it fits in the room, it’s better in the trash for stored secretly AWAY!!!

c) It’s important that if you do want a clean, sleek, simple room, you will have to give up on your huge collection. I mean you don’t have to throw it ALL away, but just keep it away from plain sight.

RULE Number Two: Start With getting rid of things that you haven’t used for the past 6 years. I mean, if you have used it for the past 6 years, I doubt you’ll use it for the rest of your life time. Come on, seriously be realistic when doing this. Oh, and for those who are thinking “oh i might use this in the future and I don’t want to waste money buying it in the future blah, bleh, blah”. Yes that is true, though every time you think that, just think about the rent or the money you pay to keep your property so that you could keep this piece of $h!t =)

RULE Number Two: Keep only the vital daily things you NEED out in plain sight. There’s no need to see a box full of Christmas decorations out on the 4th of July -_-” That’s a great place for the garage.

RULE Number Three: Buy colourful stylish boxes or containers to keep things organized!!! They look simple, yet convenient to look for when you need to find something specific! Trust me, you have not idea how useful these can get! I got mines from the dollar store and they looked pretty good. Of course if you want bigger boxes, you’ll need to spend bigger bucks.

RULE Number Four: Have SOME decorations. Go to places like Pottery Barn if you want something really fancy, but if you are just looking for something pleasing to the eye and does not matter where you get it from, try local stores like Wal-Mart =) REMEMBER not to overload your house with them!

RULE Number Five: Keep the word “Balance” in mind. When arranging ANYTHING at all, everything should look balanced and pleasing to the eyes.

RULE Number Six: When having picture frames in your room, do NOT hang it so high that its inches from the ceiling -_-” trust me, people will not be able to enjoy it from there when they are straining their necks. It’s also very strange to have it so high… You may be thinking, “who the hell would do that,” but ohhhh trust me, there ARE. Just place it at eye level.

RULE Number Seven: Rugs, they are quite nice to tie the room together as well as give a cozy feel to the room. However, they should never be in the middle of the room with no furnitures touching the rug. Complicated, but it’s something to keep in mind as rugs like that in the middle of the room tend to give an illusion that it “floats” in the middle of the room. Try having some legs of a coffee table on it to keep it grounded!

That’s all I can think of for now, but I’ll update this when I think of more =)

Even when it’s life and death, just breathe… whew

21 Apr

When life gets tough, don’t let it get to you. Take a time to think over the situation and work around it. There’s is no use in whining about it the past. What’s happened has happened, just make the best of the situation. Today I left my History notebook/folder at school. Went to get it (luckily the janitors let me in) and realized that my binder wasn’t there. I started to get really pissed at myself. I nearly threw a temper tantrum. Oh I’m sorry, did I say nearly? I meant I did threw a temper tantrum. Of course it wasn’t public, I just cried my guts out in my bedroom. In the end, I took a big breather and thought about my next move. I could either, not study, study with what I have (stupid textbook (psh, my golden notebook has so much more good stuff in there) and try to get a passing grade, call a friend, keep on crying and sobbing about it or whine to a friend what bad luck I have. Well I definitely wasn’t going to blow off my History test, I was soooooo not going to whine about my mistake to someone or sob in a corner, the best thing to do was to do what I can and grab good notes from the textbook and call a friend to help me study. I probably won’t call a friend, due to the fact I don’t like relying on other people. However I am gonna pass high school or not (well not really, but i want to keep my average up you know!), life and death situation and that was the only smart move I could possibly make. O gosh my life sucks. And here I am talking about it on my blog when I could do some good studying -_-”.  Ok ima start my studying, please give me some feedback on what you’d do in my situation. I’ll consider them the next time it happens again (trust me, not the first time….or the third).

Not Caring what Others Think is Easy Said than Done =/

20 Apr

As a preteen, a teen, and coming to being an adult in 2 years, not caring what others think is no easy task. To tell you the truth, I care SO much about what others think of me, so I’ve never share any personal information to other like my marks in school, my ideas, my thoughts etc. to keep my rep or status.  I kinda had a “paranoia” that everyone’s opinions are more important than mine and that if I don’t think a certain way, everyone will avoid me. I guess you can say that I afraid of being a loner. However, trying to be like everyone else just made me boring. This made my self esteem really down, and got me into a depressed emo phase. Even though everyone sees me as the kind, happy person I show myself to be, it’s totally not that way. I feel that whenever someone’s opinion goes north I feel as though I must go north as well. I always thought I was an individual totally different from everyone, but in reality I am actually no different than a herd of sheep following the leader. This has got me thinking that I’ve totally muted myself; I shutted off my opinion, my voice, and who I am. Later, I thought to myself, why would I care so much about how others think of me. Bam, it hit me. I had a habit and felt the need of trying to impress/please everyone while forgetting that the most important person to please is myself. So for those who are feeling the same way as me, forget everyone else. Choose to live life for yourself and not others, because when you live as yourself, it is much easier than trying be someone you’re not just so you can please everyone. Trust me, not everyone in this world is gonna like you for who you are, but that’s their lost  if they can’t accept they way you were meant to be. You may not be the most popular person, or may just be a person with only a few friends but as long as you know they are the ones who stick through the ups and downs with you because you’re Y-O-U.

SPRING/ MARCH BREAK IS OVER, I AM NOT READY FOR SCHOOL… WHAT SHOULD I DO???

21 Mar

Have you ever felt uneasy, and nervous after a long break to go back to school? Whether it is a test, teacher, friends bullies WHATEVER; you just don’t wanna go back. Have you felt that? Well I feel the same way all the time! The first day back is a little hard. So here are some tips to get you back on track focused on school!

DO’S AND DON’TS TO  GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

DON’T:

-Sleep late on the night before going back to school (THAT’S WHAT WEEKENDS ARE FOR DUH!)

-Wait until the LAST DAMN minute to pack/ organize school bag (You end up forgetting all your materials like moi)

-Wait until the last minute to do your homework (This is a big NO NO!!! If your the type who does not like to write in your agenda, please take extra notice and precautions!)

-ONCE AGAIN, don’t sleep late!!! When you start the habit, you screw up your times of when u feel like sleeping! Sleeping helps you stay focused and on top of your game in school!

-Don’t skip class. First day is a tempt to skip, but just don’t. ( I did that; by the time I came to school next day, there were 3 pop tests waiting for me the next day. Just my luck.)

-DONNOT search asian dramas b4 school starts!!! (Just know that if you do, there are consequences to face like: addiction, obsession with a hawt asian actor, in depth search of the drama’s ost, going all nighter for the drama, excessive conversations with friends about how hawt the drama or actor was… JUST DON’T!)

Do:

-GO TO SCHOOL (it’s not that difficult ppl!)

-Pay attention ( Even if you don’t, DON’T make it obvious that you are not ok? THERE ARE WAYS! I’ll go through that maybe in my next post)

-Ask ppl how their break was, but for ppl who think you need to go in depth on where and when they did what they did, keep conversation simple. No one REALLY wants an in depth study of how they spent their break.)

-Keep an optimistic mood about school, it may not be no Jonas Brother’s Concert (by the way, i am not a fan), or a walk in the park, but just think maybe, juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust maybe, something unexpected will fall out of the sky and hit you.

Here is a song i LOVE SOOOO much by the taiwanese drama “P.S. Man” (you should watch it is pretty good, o yes, you may have noticed i have not added this to the list of dramas on my drama list, but i will update it SOON! If you are wondering, WHAT list?!?!?! It is at the top right corner of my blog, there should be two tabs in that corner called “My Asian Dramas!!!”. Still can’t find the tabs? Try: http://karmenz2blogz4luved7up.wordpress.com/ It should soo b there! Enjoy the song “Who Am I” by “Magic Power” <3

DEADLY PROCRASTINATIONS!!! (and how to stop them X)

5 Mar

Everyone looking at this post must be a victim of the deadly procrastination. You know you’ve done it, everyone does it. It is nothing to be guilty of, it is just something we do to stall the work that HAS to be done. However, once you start it is like a drug, it gets addictive and you end up doing it all the time!

So here are some tips to prevent the deadly procrastinations:

-Don’t take a nap before you do something! (Taking naps gives you energy, but it makes you lazy, TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!

-Don’t turn on music, you end up going on youtube finding more songs to put on mp3 or fiddle with the playlist on what song to listen to!

-Don’t close the door of your room if you have a small room, it makes your room hotter (even in winter), then you get stuffy and dizzy.

-Don’t go to work on an empty stomach, you end up unconsciously raiding your fridge. (HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY, i ended up having a feast)

-Don’t work in a cluttered environment. (I did that last week; I ended up cleaning my whole room before i started on my essay)

-Don’t have study sessions or “study parties”. (it never works; you can never make work “fun”)

-Don’t have people over. ( you end up talking about what fabric softener is better; like me)

-Don’t give yourself a stupid excuse to not do the work like “I can always do it tomorrow”. (Just imagine you’ll die next week; that might help a bit)

What TO DO to prevent the deadly procrastinations and how to stop them when you need to stop them the most:

-Do make sure you have everything you need to complete your task (One time i ran up and down the stairs at least 45 times before i was ready to start)

-Do put some light snack and refreshments on the side. Don’t overload the table; this isn’t a Thanksgiving dinner you know.

-Do have the workplace to be organized beforehand, if it is very cluttered, just throw it all on the floor and clean it later. (I do it all the time =)

-Do write down everything you need to do if it is a long task to prevent lost memories on what to do.

-Lastly, DO IT, DON’T MAKE ME HARASS YOU TO GET IT DONE!

Oh right, check for updates on this. You may never know i may add more tips because I always discover a new way to procrastinate =D

Here’s a treat, its one of  my fave songs ^_^

ASIAN DRAMA CRITQUE: THE MYTH 2010

4 Mar

Searching more dramas to watch,I came across a drama called “The Myth”. Now actually, I didn’t know there would be drama coming out based on the famous film with Jackie Chan in it! It just so happen that this time Jackie Chan was the producer along the director who filmed with him before, Stanley Tong!

I have to say, based on the many dramas I’ve watch like Princess Returning Pearl, Virtues of Harmony, Moonlight or Resonance, Dae Jang Geum (AKA Jewel in the Palace), The Myth is definitely something to think about watching!

In this drama, Hu Ge plays a playboy who like to take the easy way out in life, but when he comes across an ancient box, he travels back in time to the Qin Dynasty era. As he goes through obstacles to find his way back home, he becomes a legendary hero. While he is in the Qin Dynasty era, his girlfriend and family goes through obstacles  to open the box that took him back in time as well as try to avoid the robber who are going after them for the box. Piece by piece the story reveals hidden secrets which will unfold the story.
